FAQ's

How many guests can the venue accommodate?

 The Hitching Post is designed for intimate weddings of up to 40 guests. Micro-weddings like these allow couples to spend meaningful time with their closest friends and family while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere.  

What dates are available?

 The venue is open Memorial Day through October 7, 2026, which coincides with the best weather and scenery in the Estes Park area.

Can we have both the ceremony and reception onsite?

 Yes. Many couples choose to hold both their ceremony and reception at the venue so guests can relax and celebrate without traveling between locations. 

Are decorations allowed?

 Yes. Couples are welcome to bring flowers, simple décor, and personal touches as long as they respect the natural setting. 


Please note any decor with an open flame including candles, fireworks, sparklers etc. is prohibited. 

Are vendors included?

 The Hitching Post is a venue-only rental, giving couples the freedom to choose their own vendors. We provide a list of trusted local professionals who specialize in small mountain weddings. 

Is Rocky Mountain National Park Nearby?

Yes. The venue is located just outside Rocky Mountain National Park, which offers stunning alpine lakes, mountain overlooks, and forest scenery for additional wedding photos.  

Is the venue private?

Yes. The property is reserved exclusively for your event during your rental time so you can celebrate without interruptions. 

Is parking available?

 Yes. Limited onsite parking is available for guests and vendors. 

Is the terrain accessible?

 The venue is rustic and natural. Some areas include uneven ground, rock features, and forest paths. 

Can we have a fire?

 Yes. The reception area includes a fire pit that can be used for cooking or gathering around in the evening.  (Restrictions may apply based on County regulations regarding fire, and an attendant for $199 is required)
